Hillary’s campaign caught doctoring Obama photo
Okay, I might get flamed for this, but here goes… (Oh, and I’m literally wearing my Obama t-shirt right this moment, so keep that in mind.)
I agree wholeheartedly that the facts about the subcommittee aren’t presented by the Clinton campaign in a completely accurate manner. Boo on Hillary’s people for that.
But I can’t take the whole “image doctoring” thing. It’s a television commercial, and when you’re assigned to make your brand look better than Brand X, you use whatever video techniques you have at your disposal. Maybe politics should be held to a higher standard — I wish it was — but if medications can use desaturated images in their ads to convey the symptoms of allergies, then political candidates will (and have) too.
As for making him look “blacker”… I dunno. I think we already knew he was black. I mean, if this is a shocker to somebody at this point then they probably wouldn’t be able to find their voting precinct anyway.
(Sidenote: It doesn’t make him look “blacker” to me, it makes the footage of him look old, dated, rusty… which is what I think the producer of the ad was going for. A cheap, stupid technique, but nothing new here.)
Having said all that, let me be clear: I hate the ads that Clinton has been running. But not for the special effects.
