All you drunkards with iPhones and other electo-paraphernalia capable of taking photos and sending emails should love this. Put mamd@topherchris.com in your contacts, and ping it with an image of you enjoying your favorite beverage to submit it. Easier than drunk-dialing! Just make sure you give it a caption in the subject line.

Submissions gathered through this means are subject to the same moderation as the regular uploads — so depending on the time of day or night it might take a little while for stuff to show up.

Geeky stuff ahead.
This isn’t just a redirect to the “mobile posting” email address that we all have — after all, that would open up the site to all kinds of abuse. Can’t have that. The contents of messages sent to this address are processed with some PHP and if it finds the right stuff (namely, a subject line and an image attachment) it gets put into the same moderation system that I already had (which means it goes into MySQL and yada yada). It’s not a cure for AIDS, but it was cool to finally figure this whole email-processing thing out.
