Hey, I got lots of praise for TumPop and I thank you all for it. Here I’ll address the questions that have come up so far.

Good point here. I’m never quite sure how to handle link targets. In a perfect internet of usability and righteousness, I’d never open in a new window/tab. We don’t live in that world, however, which is why sometimes I do it and sometimes I don’t. I’ll go ahead and put this on the list though.

I respect that. The only reason there’s a user login is so you can go back and look at the links you favored later. I think the concept of the site still works without that (indeed, you can submit stuff and it’ll go into the database) — but to access your “favorites” list later it’ll need to know who you were.
Granted, there are many ways to achieve this. I picked Tumblr authentication because their API can check it and I’m using the API everywhere else already. If that mechanism makes people uneasy, then I can do something different.
