When Barack Met John…

This Saturday at 8pm, John McCain and Barack Obama will share a stage for the first time in a live forum on CNN. At a church. With its pastor as the moderator.

I’m not going to bash religion here, but the first meeting between these two candidates has special significance and I’m skeptical that an Evangelical Christian megachurch is the place for serious political discourse. Granted, I’m not sure that serious political discourse is something that can happen on commercial television today regardless of location and host, but this just doesn’t smell right to me.
