I don’t mean to be, like, contrary, but take at look at this: Using a custom domain name.

In the midst of some instructions for changing your domain’s A-record to point to Tumblr, there’s a number that might look familiar: 72.32.231.8. What this means is that everyone with their own domain which points explicitly to Tumblr (not a subdomain) will have this IP listed in whatever records you’re looking at.
