Zoom The first Space Shuttle launch, STS-1, was on April 12, 1981. If you wanted to watch it happen, you had to find a television. Your entire frame of reference for the event was how the network chose to present it. Today, the story is STS-135. NASA has their own Ustream channel showing the entire thing in HD, straight from the source. Incredible times.
