Reasons your website isn’t ready to go live, in order of importance

  • You didn’t add Google Analytics.
  • You didn’t make a favicon.
  • There’s a database connection error on every page.
  • There’s no actual content.
  • You ripped-off the design from Zeldman.
  • The flashing background gives 2% of the general population a seizure.
  • All your photos have a prominent iStockPhoto.com watermark.
  • You don’t want your friends and family to know about your Harry Potter fetish.
  • It’s just another clone of The Instapaper.
  • You don’t have enough advertisements.
  • You didn’t add a copyright mark in the footer.
  • The entire site is in flash.
  • You still need to make more room for more advertisements.
  • I had that idea six months ago.
  • You didn’t make an iPhone-optimized version.
